Ted Cruz was born in Canada to an American mother and a Cuban father.
The
U.S. Constitution states specifically that "No person except a natural
born Citizen ... shall be eligible to the Office of President."
From a pool of 318.9 million, can't we find a president who was born here?
Not that Cruz will get the nomination, but still -- let's get these rules straightened out.
"Natural Born" has a definition.
ReplyDeleteIt includes people born outside the USA, but to an American parent.
Obama's mother was a US citizen as well. (At least I've never heard that she'd renounced citizenship when OBummer was young)
